This flameworked borosilicate pendant is about 2.25" long.
I've been trying to explore some new shapes and styles of pendants. I don't have easy access to the larger carlisle torches that I used to use, so I've been making due with minor torches. They work, but it's a little slower going since I can't get up enough heat. I also can't make larger pieces, but I haven't really had a desire to make big stuff lately.
I use a minor and I totally know that feeling. I used to make huge glass beads and pendants at my glass class where both the gas and the oxygen pressure was massive. Now in my studio I run off of a house gas line and use oxygen tanks, so the pressure is far less and thus the flame isn't as hot. So I've had to be content with making smaller pieces. Admittedly though, it has helped me to refine my skills in that creating smaller pieces requires more concentration and attention to detail. As well, stringer work (and other techniques) is typically done using cooler flames so I've been able to practice with the cooler aspects of glass creation.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
