Artist's Comments
I'm a member of the local chapter of the ISGB (International Society of Glass Beadmakers) and one of the activities that the chapter is participating in is making purple heart beads to donate to an organization called Beads of Courage [link] . The short story is that they've developed a program to help children cope with serious illness by using beads to represent different milestones in treatment. When The child is cured, they get a purple heart bead.
So, these are the pieces I've made for donations. They're made of boro. I used some transparent purple frit for coloring which shows up better at certain angles than others. |
